Operetta’s New Year’s Eve programmes feature a diverse, varied and rich bouquet of soloists. The programme has been designed in accordance with the audience’s expressed wishes for the highlights of the performances produced by the Latvian Operetta Foundation and the musical material of the Operetta Festival.

On New Year’s Eve, the musical sparkle and enchantment of champagne lightness will be enjoyed with Latvian and world operetta and musical hits. These include “An Actor’s Life” by Arvīds Žilinskis, “Salmon Swimming in the Great Sea” from the operetta “Dzintarkrasta puiši”, “Annele’s Waltz” from Elga Igenberga’s operetta “Annele”, Auce and Marija’s duet from Imants Kalniņš’ song “From the Sweet Bottle”, songs from Raimonds Pauls’ song “Pāri kas dabonas” and operetta “Sister Kerija”, Maritza’s aria from Imre Kalman’s operetta “Maritza”, numbers from Franz Lehár’s operetta “The Merry Widow”, Homonoy’s czardas from Johann Strauss’ operetta “The Gypsy Baron”, “You Own My Heart” from Franz Lehár’s operetta “Land of Smiles”, excerpts from Jacques Offenbach’s operetta “Pericles”, Franz Lou’s operetta “My Fair Lady”, Johann Strauss waltzes, polkas, etc.c.

And as usual in our end-of-year concerts, a musical insight into the melodies of the upcoming new production of Paul Abraham’s jazzy operetta “Ball at the Savoy”.

The concert features outstanding soloists (different artists will sing in different concerts), operetta dancers and the Operetta Orchestra.
