In 2015, a magnificent and sparkling concert Operetta GALĀ took place at the open-air stage in Ikšķile (Lībiešu iela 2), featuring the most outstanding Latvian and international operetta soloists. Visitors enjoyed an unforgettable evening with Sonora Vaice, Inga Pētersons, Nauri Indzer, Alisa Zinovjevs (Italy) and other outstanding artists, as well as dancers and orchestra under the direction of conductor Guntars Bernāts.
The programme featured popular and well-loved melodies from the golden fund of Latvian and world operetta – “Dzintarkrasta puiši” by Arvīds Žilinskis, “Annele” by Elga Igenberga, “No saldenās pudeles” by Imants Kalnins, as well as unforgettable works by Johann Strauss, Imre Kalman, Franz Lehár and other composers. The audience heard such legendary songs as “Salmon Swimming in the Great Sea”, “Song of the Morning Wind”, “Atskrien laimīte un joks” and many others.
This musical feast was directed by Valdis Lūriņš, choreographed by Alberts Kivlenieks and hosted by the charming actor Normunds Laizāns. The magnificent visual experience was created by costume designer Jurate Jurjāne-Silakaktiņa and set designer Oskars Dreģis.
