The 3rd International Operetta Festival’s programme event “Conversations over Coffee” offers a two-part cultural and historical discussion in an informal and pleasant atmosphere on the banks of the Daugava River.
The first part of the event is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the great composer, conductor, teacher and professor Mendels Bach. Mendelis Bašs has left an indelible mark on the history of Latvian music, significantly influencing the development of the operetta genre in Latvia and educating several generations of musicians.
The second part of the talks will focus on the first 21. the original Latvian operetta of the century “Three Stars. Zigfrīds”, which is a significant event in contemporary Latvian musical theatre. The discussion will focus on the creation, influence and significance of this operetta in Latvian culture.
The talks will be moderated by Professor Mg. art. Jānis Siliņš, and will be attended by Ingrīda Meierovica and Professor Dr. hist. Ilga Kreituse – personalities with extensive knowledge and deep understanding of Latvian culture, art and history.
