The 5th International Operetta Festival in Ikšķilė is an important summer cultural event that brings together outstanding musical theatre artists from Latvia and abroad. From 6 to 12 August, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy magnificent concerts with a diverse representation of musical theatre genres – from classical operetta to jazz transformations. This year’s festival also marks the start of the 10th anniversary celebrations of the non-governmental Operetta Theatre. Ikšķile’s wonderful setting, outstanding music and visual design create a special, uplifting atmosphere that enchants every listener, guaranteeing the highest standards of the genre, abundant joy and unforgettable musical adventures. The culmination of the festival – the Gala Concert – will feature internationally renowned soloists from Latvia, Ukraine and Lithuania, as well as dancers from the Operetta Theatre and the symphony orchestra under the baton of conductor Atvars Lakstīgalas.
