Broadway-style song play based on the popular fairy tale “Pooh and Smaug” by Enida Blayton

Duration: 70 min
Language: Latvian
Premiere: 15/07/2015

Who does not know the children’s songs by the great Latvian composer-melodist Arvīds Žilinskis – hits that are as popular in all generations as the works of Raimonds Pauls: “Rīta rosme”, “Dziesmiņa par mīļo māmiņu”, “Kaķīt’s mans”, “Dziesma par slinko Jānīti”, “Pulkstens nine jau zvana” and many, many others that will be performed in the show?

Pauk, the bunny, always has his head full of ideas and silliness, but Šmauks, the wise man, helps him make them happen. Life is full of fun, silliness and surprises, but every fun thing they do, which is always well-intentioned, ends rather sadly… The bunnies in the Oak Forest don’t hang their heads and are ready to make amends (how familiar, isn’t it?), and… “I-D-E-J-A!” comes up again for Pauk. A new adventure begins…

Anyway, bunnies have the most important, greatest value – a good heart! That is why this story ends well, and they are forgiven.

The expressive movement choreography by choreographer Alberts Kivlenieks, the vivid costume concept, the set design of the Ozolaine forest environment will delight both children of pre-school and younger grades, their parents and everyone who loves excitement, fun and has fond childhood memories.

The song is performed by the instrumental group of the Operetta Orchestra under the direction of jazz pianist Madars Kalnins.

Valentina

Valentina is a woman through whose fate, as in cinema, themes “pass”, which are at the same time a reflection of her life and also encompass the deeper essence of things, drawing an epoch. Opera actress Sonora Vaice will bring to life Valentina's love story, whose heroine is endowed with a warm, vital and witty human essence, despite her experiences.
