A warm and educational event \u201cConversations with Harijs Misi\u0146\u0161 100\u201d – a tribute to the great Latvian actor, director and singer, who has been remembered by several generations as an unforgettable children’s radio presenter and storyteller – took place at the Ik\u0161\u0137ile Folk House. Conversations with children and young people led by Professor J\u0101nis Sili\u0146\u0161 touched upon the art of storytelling, music and singing in the context of the creative legacy of Harijs Misi\u0146\u0161. <\/p>\n\n
Harijs Misi\u0146\u0161, who received his education at the Bulduri Gardening School and the Latvian Actors’ Trade Union Theatre School, became a soloist at the newly established Operetta Theatre in 1945. His most prominent roles include Bonnie in I. K\u00e1lm\u00e1n’s “Silva”, Negus in F. Leh\u00e1r’s “The Merry Widow” and other favourite characters. He also worked as a director, staging several operettas, including P. Abraham’s “Hawaiian Flowers” and “Ball in Savoy”. <\/p>\n\n
However, Harijs Misi\u0146\u0161 gained a special love of the people with his wonderful voice and talent, telling children’s stories every evening on Latvian radio.
