In my amber dreams…

Latvian composers' theatre and film music programme

Duration: 120 min
Language: Latvian
Premiere: 10/11/2024

“There is so much happiness in my amber dreams!…”, says the poem by Vilis Pludonis, chosen by composer Jānis Lūsēns for his song – a tribute to Sonora Vaice.

A vital, relaxing and warmly positive programme of theatre and film music by Latvian composers, with theatrical elements and bright musical accents by the brilliant violin virtuoso RAIMONDS OZOLS and improvisations of well-known melodies by the young, talented jazz pianist MATĪS ŽILINSKY, who will tempt you to sing along.

The soloists will both sing and dance, like in a fashion show, changing colourful costumes and taking the audience through different events in the life of a person, each one of us, that are dear to us, associative emotional states and moods, making us laugh and think: is the life we live theatre?

Sounds:

  • Zigmar Liepiņš’s song “Bless this land in the sky”
  • Kārlis Lācis Baibina’s song from the musical “Pūt, vējiņi”
  • Raimonds Pauls’ Kerry and Hertwood duet and Kerry’s song from the operetta Sister Kerry
  • Melody from the film “Theatre”
  • Elsa and Emil’s duet and “Running away with happiness and joy” from the song game “Pairs that dabonas”
  • “I’ll take you to the tango” from the musical Marlene
  • “Boulevard Saint-Germain” from the musical “Ladies’ Paradise”
  • “Let us convene, let us sing!”
  • Jānis Lūsēns’ “No, I am not” from the rock opera “The Sphinx” and “The Song of a Dreamer” (the composer’s dedication to Sonora Vaice)
  • Elga Igenberga’s melodies from the operetta “Annele”
  • “Silava Waltzes” by Indulis Kalnins
  • And many others
