The Chardash Queen” will take place outside the historical time. The creative team of the production indulges in the spectacular and true nature of Silva’s character, which opens a wide vista and stands transcending time. The director Juris Jonelis expresses himself figuratively: “If you have the Adria, you can’t travel on inland lakes and rivers. You need the ocean! Silva is like this ferry Adria”.

The operetta “SILVA. The Chardash Queen” is about two worlds that intertwine and confront in the story of two lovers – Silva and Edwin. Silva Varescu is a well-known cabaret singer who is, at her core, a world-class artist. Her inner world knows no boundaries, her personality is so seductive and fiery that people are affected and better in her presence. She ignites with her soulful and genuine nature.

For these and other reasons, Silva is in love with Prince Edwin von Lippert-Weilersheim, who is destined to have a bride from the aristocratic world – his cousin and childhood friend Stasia. Silva’s choice between art and love is such a grand struggle that it will be impossible to remain indifferent until the operetta’s usual happy ending.

This new production will feature unusual genres – operetta and cabaret singing, contemporary circus elements, as well as authentic Gypsy music.
